Skills Required and Job Description:

MOI::T+S i am looking for a sr. dba with strong mysql dba and good competent oracle dba experience.  the contract is for about 6 months with options to extend.  our environment is primarily rhel linux running on  vmware vms and aws ebs vms. the successful candidate will have demonstrated competency in db performance tuning, db backups and restores, db disaster recovery db systems, shell scripting and other dba areas.  experience with mysql replication, mysql clustering, and percona tools preferred. the candidate will also provide hyperion brio (business intelligence) support.  the candidate will be part of a team of three other dbas that work on a rotation basis for primary support. the candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication skills as we are in progress of building a "follow-the –sun" dba team with dbas in oakland, phoenix and chennai, india.      mysql dba contractor position prefers 10 years of mysql dba experience   upgrade coming up to go from mysql version 5.5 to version 5.6 or 5.7   must have experience with "plug-ins" must have experience with password plug-ins must know percona tools matson uses eb (enterprise backup) master slave master master
