Java With Groovy(No H1B)//VA // Long Term// Immediate Hire...Urgent Need...!!

Top Three Skills:             

1. 3-5 years of Java development experience- experience with Java 8 and Spring 4 framework would be a plus.

2. 3 + years of experience with Grails/Groovy

3. Experience with a Tomcat conversion. They are going from version 6 to 8 so that would be ideal.

Job Description: Our Client is looking for a Senior level Java application developer to join their team to work on site in Lynchburg VA for 3-4 months. Currently there are about 96 developers that work on site at the University that are broken down by product teams. There are about 20 PMs at Liberty and each about 2-3 development teams under them.

 

Currently they need a senior level developer to help work on their "Swiper" application. This application is used to track students activity and entrance into difference areas of the school. It ties to the students key cards that allows them access into areas around the campus. One of the buildings they are focused on tracking student activity is their math emporium. This application allows teachers to pull data on student activity in the math emporium to utilize for their classes and curriculum. They can track how long the average student is in the emporium and how long it takes them to study and take tests. Currently they have tomcat 6 which is no longer going to be supported so they need this person to convert them to tomcat 8. The UI for this application is written in grails/groovy, so they need this person to have at least 3+ years of development experience in that platform as well.

 

They need a mid-senior level resource to come work on this project and hit the ground running.

- Currently working with Java 8- not a hard requirement but would be a huge plus

- Oracle experience would allow this person to hit the ground running

- Experience with a Tomcat conversion

- Development experience with Groovy/Grails

- Must have experience the Spring Framework

-Experience with APIs would be a plus.
