Role : PERL Developer with Some .Net Exp
Location : Philadelphia, PA
Duration : 24+ Months with likely extensions
Interview : Phone and F2F/Skype (onsite interview desired )
The client and the team you'll be working in are great and offer positive challenges in a dynamic environment.
To give you an idea of what you will be doing and team you will be doing it with, here's the high level overview:
· This role will be upgrading a new enterprise wide file transfer solution for the client.
· The product/application they have chosen is Eagle Pace. The client is moving from Version 10 to Version 15.
· They are looking to augment their current staff by as many as 5 consultants to assist with the current batch jobs and assist with the migration into the new system.
· Most jobs are written in PERL and some in .NET. Investment banking and Eagle knowledge would be a huge plus.
· The team works hard but still manages to have a lot of fun.
· Great synergy exists within the team and the other groups you will partner with.
Job Responsibilities
· The Developer will utilize various technologies including, but not limited to, PERL, .NET, SQL Server and will go directly into the Eagle Database (which is Oracle). They will be pulling data out, not necessarily doing data manipulation.
· Move data to different locations (FTP) via PERL to different downstream applications and have uploaders that will be used via the Eagle system.
· Perl batch is the patchwork that keeps everything tied to Eagle and items that are written outside of Eagle. Need to upgrade to go against the new Oracle/Eagle version 15 that is working with the new Oracle 11g database.
· From a development perspective, all Perl batch changes will need to reflect the new environment/new locations and the new connection points along those lines. There are about 1300 jobs that need to be completed.
· Investment knowledge would be a plus, Eagle knowledge would be a huge plus.
· The main focus is to change these Perl and .NET applications to repoint to the new location and with that, do unit testing and work with the business to do QA testing.
· Will also be triaging in PERL and .NET (WCF). Once we are ready to implement, this person will be handling the rollout as well.
· AutoSys would be a huge plus as that is their scheduling tool.
Core Skills Required
- 3 - 5 years' experience working with PERL Scripting and .NET
- Proven Experience with SQL Server and Oracle – will need to perform SQL
- Strong knowledge of Windows.
- Experience with a scheduling tool (AutoSys or Control M)
- Strong Knowledge of Enterprise Application and Business-to-Business Integration
- Experience with communication protocols FTP
Desirable Skills in addition to Core Skills
- Investment knowledge
- Eagle Pace knowledge
- Experience with Oracle 11g
- AutoSys
