These are hands-on positions, responsible for day-to-day administration, monitoring, and performance troubleshooting duties in a highly complex, highly available SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008 environments. The DBA is a member of the team that performs pro-active, preventative work within the environment to maintain best practices and keep a steady state. The DBA team is responsible for establishing standards and best practices for database administration. The candidate will troubleshoot, resolve and deliver root cause of re-active incidents for customer database issues. The DBA must possess a high technical aptitude and be able to logically step through a problem. The DBA will be available for escalations during and after regular business hours. The DBA must be able to communicate well in written and verbal forms. POSITION: SQL Server DBAs REQUIREMENTS: - At least 6 Years' experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator. Experience building and maintaining SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008 databases.
- Bachelor's Degree, Microsoft certification
- Strong knowledge of Windows OS
- Experience in Performance Tuning and Query Optimization, Ability to monitor and analyze performance metrics (perfmon, DMVs, profiler) and allocate database resources to achieve optimum database performance;
- Extensive experience of backup, restore and recovery procedures.
- Strong knowledge of High Availability and Disaster Recovery for SQL Server 2005/2008.
- Strong ability to write and troubleshoot SQL code (stored procedures, functions, tables, indexes, constraints).
- Expertise in SSIS and SSRS.
- Experience working in a Vmware environment.
- Experience with EMC SAN storage systems.
- SQL Server installation and upgrade experience
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, delivering projects in a quality fashion, eagerness to mentor junior staff
