Requirement : 1

Role      : Network Migration Engineer

Location : Minneapolis, St. Paul metropolitan area. Eagan MN

Duration : 8+ Months 

Please Note:  There will be mandatory Skype or go to meeting web/video interview 

Start Date:  Immediate, the candidate should be able to join immediately in a week or week and a half.

Purpose:

As part of an effort to move certain customer applications off the Internet, END-CLIENT is building a new, standards-based solution, to support secure 

connectivity for customers and business partners. The solution will support secure connectivity via SSL VPN and/or IPsec VPN. Contract resources are required to 

assist with the design, build, testing, and migration of existing customer and business partner connections to the new solution.

 

Period is for 30 weeks (7 months to 9 months), but may get extended.

 

Good knowledge of Network Security Domain

·          Hands on in Network Implementation, Configuration ,Deployment  for Network Security (Experience in CISCO gear is required)

·          Hands on experience in Subnet & VLAN designation, FQDN/NAT etc planning, IPSEC configuration, Firewall/Load-Balancer/Router changes etc.

Responsibilities:

1.        Assist in the design phase including Proof of Concept (lab) and to-be solution. Prepare and/or update deliverables as assigned.

2.        Perform configuration, build and testing activities for Proof of Concept (lab),  build and configuration of to-be solution, and during customer and business partner migrations.

3.        Prepare written test cases per functional, non-functional and quality requirements to support to-be solution and migration testing.

4.        Perform and record results for unit, end-to-end and other testing to support Proof of Concept (lab), build and configuration of to-be solution, and customer and business partner migrations.

5.        Identify and document "run book" activities for pattern-based migration plans, based on requirements (schedule and resources) and direction from Architect or other project resources.

6.        As assigned, perform technical risk analysis or impact assessment, with written results, for: other project dependencies, technical issues or challenges, customer and business partner 

          requirements, etc.

7.        Perform client and business partner migrations, including testing and post migration support based on schedule (likely to include evening and weekend work).

 

Technical Skills and Certifications:

1.        CCNP certification desired

2.        Mid-Senior Level Consultant – 5+ year Cisco IOS experience

3.        2+ Year SSL-based connectivity experience

4.        1+ Year Cisco VPN IPsec experience, including ISR 44xx experience

5.        1+ projects with Client VPN migration experience

6.        2+ years combined experience with Checkpoint FW, Cisco ASA firewall and F5 Big IP (NAT, VIPs, etc.)

7.        Proficiency for creating network conceptual and detailed diagrams with MS Visio

8.        Proficiency creating written test artifacts

2.Prepare written deliverables including design recommendations, detailed design diagrams and solution specification artifact. Assist in the preparation of presentation materials required to validate and gain sign-off on solution design.

3.Assist in the Proof of Concept (lab) work to determine optimal configuration, design validation and support phased migration approaches. Perform configuration on equipment and software as required and assigned as part of Proof of Concept (lab) and to-be solution.

4.Identify and document migration approaches to meet existing customer and business part configurations and use cases.

5.Identify and document test strategies for to-be-built solution and pre- and post-test customer and business partner migrations.

6.As assigned, assist with initial end-client and business partner migration, testing and post migration support.

7.Must be able to lead others and provide work direction

8.Proficiency for creating network conceptual and detailed diagrams with MS Visio
