Position Overview
Front-End Software Developer responsible for user-facing application development, from concept and design to testing with experience in building high-performing, scalable, engaging applications.
TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES
• Technical Capabilities – Required Must also be proficient with the following:
• Proficient in building applications that run in a web browser, using .NET/C#, Angular, JavaScript, HTML, CSS.
• Proficient in building applications that consume web service data, using HTTP, JSON, REST, SOAP, and XML
• Proficient in two or more of the following: Angular, React, Backbone, Knockout, Ember, jQuery or similar frameworks
• Proficient in applying sound design principles to user interfaces
• Technical Capabilities – Preferred:
o Experience with JavaScript tooling frameworks, such as Grunt, Gulp, NPM, and Bower
o Experience with testing frameworks and libraries such as Jasmine, Mocha, Karma, QUnit, or PhantomJS
o Experience with Bootstrap, Material Design, or other CSS-based libraries.
o Experience with Less, Sass or other CSS preprocessors
o Experience with high volume, highly available and data intensive applications.
o Experience with User Interface Design, User Experience Design, or Graphical Design are a bonus
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Codes, tests, debugs, and documents modified and new programs to meet business and compliance requirements
• Collaborate with architects, database engineers, and other software developers in conceptualizing, initiating and developing new software programs and applications in an Agile environment
• Works closely with assigned business groups to define application enhancements and requirements
• Assist in translating business requirements into project or design plans
• Maintains integrity of program logic and coding, and establishes required checks and balances for operational controls.
• Uses coding methods for specific programming language to enhance or initiate efficient program execution and performance, and to reach optimum hardware utilization
• Determine, develop and maintain shared software libraries, and design artifacts as determined for the project or software implementation
• Works with others to ensure that the system is packaged in a way that facilitate installation and administration
• Apply software development security principles
• Establishes and manages required checks and balances for operational controls
• Ability to make timely recommendations to effectively solve problems, using independent judgment consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations, and/or law.
• Professionally exercises discretion and independent judgment in day-to-day work
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field or 6+ years of relevant work experience
• One to three+ years software development experience with each of the following: JavaScript, HTML, CSS
• Specific experience in the following:
o Working on Agile software development team
o Hands-on Software Development experience
o Experience with test-driven development
o Experience with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes, Agile methodology
Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge
