Job Title: Big Data Developer

Location: Columbus, OH

Duration: 12 Months     

 

Description

·         This is for a technical consulting position with Client's Strategy and Analytics Service Line in the Columbus Center for Advanced Analytics.

·         This role is for a Developers, not Designers or Architects!!!!

·         They need deep experience in Java with understanding of the non-relational data space. This person has a some understanding and experience in the combination of Hadoop and one of the following, HBase, Hive, Pig, Jaql, Lucene, Avro, Zookeeper,R, UIMA.

·         If someone is currently a high level Java Developer with some exposure to Big Data - we can consider them at a slightly lower rate.

·         They need to have an understanding of the following –

·         Big Data Analytics - Experience in areas of optimizing management of and deriving insights from non-structured non-relational data, and provide business value from content through improved information management, business process optimization (BPM) and advanced analytics is key. Apply semantic correlation, ontology and text analytics techniques and systems to analyze non-structured data and identify critical insights for overall business analytics across various domains. Experience in analyzing text, streams, documents, social media, big data, speech and video with emerging Hadoop-based big data, NoSQL, Natural Language Processing, Search and Text analytics technologies and techniques. Apply big data technologies such as Hadoop or Cassandra with NoSQL data management and related programming languages such as Jaql, HBase, Pig, Hive for deep analytics and experimentation with large, multi-structured data sets.

·         While this position is located in Columbus, OH, Atlanta, GA, Washington DC Metro are or Pittsburgh, the candidate must be willing to travel within the U.S. according to client demands (expenses will be covered by Client for all travel)

 

Requirement

·         Minimum 2 years of experience writing code in Hadoop

·         Minimum 2 years of experience in one of the following -  HBase, Cassandra, MongoDB, Oracle

·         Minimum 5 years of programming experience in core Java

·         Minimum 2 years of scripting experience in one of the following - Python, Perl, Shell scripting

·         Experience in WebServices

·         Experience in automated testing tools

Understanding of Distributed computing design patterns, algorithms, data structures, security standards and protocols
