Title: Front End Developer with Ruby experience

Contract position in Chicago IL

Duration:  6 month +

Interview: Phone than Skype

 

MUST HAVE RUBY on RAILS experience

Seeking a Software Application Developer (Front-End) for our client near the O'Hare area.

 

 

Job Description

The Software Application Developer will work within a research and development team on custom application development projects including a proprietary eCommerce platform. Collaborating with business analysts, UI architects and quality control teams to develop consistent functionality, this person will be responsible for usability testing his/her own code.

 

Technical Skills

·        2-4 years experience with HTML and CSS

·        1-2 years experience with Ruby on Rails

·        1-2 experience with JavaScript

·        Experience with at least one JavaScript framework (Angular/Ember/SpineJS/Backbone)

·        SASS/LESS experience

·        Git experience

·        Photoshop and Illustrator knowledge

·        Knowledge of fonts and type foundries

·        Knowledge of DOM structure (elements, attributes, browser rendering differences)

·        SQL and database optimization experience

·        Automated test tools experience

·        Experience writing functional and unit tests

·        Ability to interpret requirements and translate them into functional elements

 

Duties and Responsibilities

·        Build out custom features for web applications based on wireframes and requirements documents detailing end-product functionality

·        Create recommendations for improving user experience/code and database efficiencies

·        Assist in development of test scenarios and associated documentation

 

Education

·        Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent

 

Knowledge and Abilities

·        Commitment to Agile development philosophies

·        Able to write clear, concise and effective documentation

·        Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
