Job Description:

dbDEPOT (Depository of Equity Products Order Transactions) is a system producing mandatory reports for hundreds of millions of Equity trades and orders every day. Future plans are to extend the region and asset-class coverage and start implementing the next generation platform to provide robust solution for increasing business needs.

The technology stack includes Oracle Exadata, SQL, PL/SQL, Java, Unix scripting.

 

Responsibilities and Attributes:

·         Work with the BA, QA and development team to understand the requirements, design and develop the automation testing solution for dbDEPOT.

·         Implement (through design and code) flexible automation testing framework that will be used for full regression automation testing and performance/load testing.

·         Maintain the test-suite of automated tests.

·         Participate in regular manual testing activities when required.

·         Implement unit tests for the framework.

 

Experience and Attributes

·         3+ years, full-time hands-on commercial software development experience with one of the following (or combined) languages: Sybase & PERL

·         Sybase and PERL scripting skillsets.

·         5-10 years' experience, experience in equity derivatives,

·         Exposure to web/Java development  

·         Good knowledge of SQL.

·         Demonstrably solid software engineering skills and willingness to learn new technologies.

·         Experience with version control-systems (e.g. SVN, etc.).

·         Experience with build tools such as Maven or Ant

·         Self-motivated, result oriented with strong analytical skills. Good at problem solving.

·         Working experience in testing or implementation of N-tier applications.

·         Working on large projects / programs.

·         Basic knowledge of Unix and Shell Scripting.

·         Graduate degree is a prerequisite, preferably in Computer Science/Engineering.

·         Good spoken and written communication skills.

 

Nice to have:

·         1+ year in the financial industry (ideally, focused on equity trading).

·         Experience in regulatory/compliance
