1. IP addressing/subnet mask

2. Routing - Static and Routing Protocols

3. BGP

4. MPLS

5. NAT/PAT

6. OSI Model

7. Cisco/Juniper command line knowledge

8. Networking troubleshooting and isolating problems

 

Security -

1. Firewall policies and standard configurations

2. Policy review

 

Other knowledge:

1. Familiarity with Cloud and/or Software Defined Network (SDN) concepts and solutions

2. Class of service - Quality of Service - the difference

3. Network Topology Designs

4. Strong documentation/communications skills

5. DNS

6. Application Monitoring

7. Problem troubleshooting and isolating problems
