Role: UNIX/Linux Engineer with Certification

Location: Dallas, TX

Duration:  6 months

 

Linux Certifications such as LPI/RHCT

 

Required Skills

-          7 years' experience in administering Linux/Unix platforms for production environments

-          Proficient in the installation, configuration and management of Linux servers

-          In-depth understanding of Linux/UNIX fundamentals including kernel subsystems, system calls, inter-process communication and file systems.

-          Working knowledge Vmware, Oracle Databases and RAC Clusters

-          Experience with logical disks (LVM/Veritas/etc)

-          Experience in performance analysis, tuning and troubleshooting of performance issues related to operating system, storage area network, backups

-          Demonstrated experience in a critical production support environment

-          Experience with enterprise level backup software such as Commvault,

-          Experience with scripting languages like perl/ksh/bash

-          Ability to automate daily administration tasks

-          Contribute to and maintain system standards.

-          Excellent communication and inter personal skills

 

Desired Skills

-          Ability to follow change management guidelines and best practices

-          Linux Certifications such as LPI/RHCT

-          Available on-call if required

 

Educational Background

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience.
