Job Description :
The HCM Business Systems Delivery team has the need for a temporary Database administrator to support projects in the coming year.
Database Administrator
• Installing Oracle database software
• Creating Oracle databases
• Performing upgrades of the database and software to new release levels
• Starting up and shutting down the database
• Managing the database's storage structures
• Managing users and security
• Managing schema objects, such as tables, indexes, and views
• Making database backups and performing recovery when necessary
• Proactively monitoring the database's health and taking preventive or corrective action as required
• Monitoring and tuning performance
• Knowledge and hands-on experience working with Oracle 11g R2 RAC
Operating Systems
• Familiar with Linux operating system
• Hands experience installing Oracle database in a Linux environment
• Experience with PeopleSoft Application configuration in a Linux environment.
• Experience with Linux/Unix shell scripting
PeopleSoft Administrator
• Adept at implementing, upgrading, and supporting PeopleSoft database administration (DBA), including Human Resource Management System (HRMS.
• In-depth experience in analysis, planning, development, and implementation stages, including load testing, quality assurance, and tuning of Oracle databases in a PeopleSoft installation.
• Solid understanding of PeopleSoft technical architecture and tools.
• Create and configure databases and other components of PeopleSoft environment.
• Administer patches, updates, and upgrades to Oracle database.
• Set up, monitor, tune, and administer PeopleSoft environment systems
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills
Hands on experience in building and supporting PeopleSoft Portal Environments
Hands on experience in applying multilingual PeopleSoft packages.
PeopleSoft ELM skills are highly desirable.
PeopleSoft Integration Broker, Application Engine, PeopleCode Development is desired
Build/Create new environments to support development and upgrade initiatives.
• Migrate program changes to the test and production environments.
• Apply patches, service packs, and bundles to multiple environments as required.
• Troubleshoot issues and maintain detailed documentation of issues and the changes that are implemented to resolve them.
• Performance tuning, Identify and fix performance bottlenecks and tune the applications using traditional techniques and tools like PeopleSoft Performance monitor, Oracle enterprise manager, Quest TOAD.
• Provide day to day support of multiple PeopleSoft environments as part of a PeopleSoft Administration team.
• Provide off-hours on call support.
• Configure/Set up Integration Broker and Web Services.
• Establishes PeopleSoft system specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; designing system infrastructure.
• Maintains PeopleSoft system performance by performing system monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting system hardware, software; escalating application problems to vendor.
• Secures PeopleSoft system by developing system access, monitoring, control, and evaluation; establishing and testing disaster recovery policies and procedures; completing back-ups; maintaining documentation.
• Prepares users by designing and conducting training programs; providing references and support.
• Upgrades system by conferring with vendors and services; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements and new software.

SCOPE:
Performs complex database administration assignments essential to the production and development of Database Management Systems (DBMS) applications. Assignments, which are in direct support of software development and maintenance teams, include database analysis, security support, design, software use, performance monitoring and tuning, and general technical expertise. Reviews and ensures integrity via standardized support tools. Ensures and monitors that assignments are performed in accordance with database administration guidelines, standards and procedures for applications development, implementation, testing, and migration. Responds to complex customer-reported systems problems. Evaluates and recommends use of software, guidelines, procedures, and development of project plans to lower level staff. Provides DBMS expertise to other groups as requested. Provides work direction and guidance to others.
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in related field and 9 + years related experience.
