Network testing Engineer

Rate: $50 - $53/hr on C2C (Max)

 

Client: Cisco Systems- Atlanta

 

Required Skills:

Cisco Routers and Switches.

Strong understanding of network protocols.

Linux/Unix

Programming in Python, Perl, or Java.

Other companies that may have candidates: HP, Lucent or Nortel

 

Job responsibilities include:

·         Perform network, firewall and application maintenance including installing and troubleshooting of network devices

·         Conduct vulnerability testing/automation and network security assessment testing

·         Conduct product security testing/automation

·         Conduct protocol robustness testing/automation

·         Conduct application vulnerability testing/automation

·         Conduct testing for various forms of network attacks (DDos, DoS, PoD, Smurf, SYN flood, ICMP flood, Packet Sniffing, etc..)

·         Facilitate network application development

·         Network performance monitoring, testing and measurement

 

Qualifications:

·         3+ years in one or more of the following languages: Java, Python, and or Perl

·         Deep knowledge of QA and engineering practices

·         Strong networking experience with application protocols (LDAP, RADIUS, TACACS+, HTTP, SFTP, HTTPS, etc…)

·         Extensive knowledge of testing security protocols and technologies such as: SSL/TLS, IPSec, etc..

·         Strong networking experience with infrastructure protocols (OSPF, BGP, TCP/IP, VTP, etc..)

·         Strong understanding and knowledge of firewalls, load balancers, etc…

·         Knowledge of traffic generation tools like IXIA, Seagull, etc..

·         Knowledge of testing software vulnerability

·         Knowledge of traffic simulation/emulation tools like Shunra

·         Knowledge of IPV6

·         Strong understanding and use of RESTful and or SOAP interfaces

·         Experience with Cisco routers and switches, IOS and or NX-OS

 

Additional Desired Qualifications:

·         Puppet

·         Experience in virtualization; Vsphere/vmWare, SAN, NAS, etc..

·         Minimum CCNP, or equivalent experience are a plus

·         Experience with source control systems like Git, SVN, etc..

·         Understanding of JSON and XML

·         Knowledge of Visio, UML a plus

·         Experience with Mongo or Couch Base

·         Administrator level skills for Linux/Unix OS

·         Eclipse IDE, Maven, Cucumber, RALLY

·         Agile

 

- This would be working on site with Cisco developing a new network teting framework.

-Essentially this will be a highlevel network engineer with a strong understanding of scripting and Unix/Linux.
