Title: Avaya Systems Engineer

Job Description:
Avaya Systems Engineer with design architect experience to provide design and some administration support for various systems throughout the enterprise-level communications infrastructure. This will include creating complete designs, creating build documentation, installation support, and administration support. This individual will also be responsible for the quality control of the deployed systems. Additional responsibilities to include:
- Installs and maintains voice network systems and equipment
- Ensures systems meet business needs and objectives.
- Resolves escalated complex support issues.
- Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) for the resolution of complex voice, voice mail, system servers, and network problems.
- Gathers customer requirements and writes technical solutions/build documents with recommended solutions/designs
- Collaborates with users, vendors, and other technical staff members on the identification, isolation and correction of problems and enhancements in the voice networks and systems.
- Provide formal or informal knowledge sharing regarding the use of new and existing technologies and firm processes.
- Installs, maintains, and monitors overall performance of the voice network, including establishing routing groups, analog and digital line configurations and installations, voice mail, and reporting.
- Participates in efforts to define and develop cost effective voice solutions/enhancements to optimize business needs and communications equipment/software capabilities. To include: researching, performing cost benefit analysis, recommending and gaining commitments.
- Participates in the development and implementation of best practices, policies, processes and procedures for the voice department as well as the enterprise.
- Proactively analyze, troubleshoot and resolve telecommunications systems and circuit issues in a timely manner.
- Consistently follow standard change management processes and ensures less experienced engineers also do. Document and evaluate impact of required changes to the various networked systems. Plan, schedule and communicate changes to be implemented.

- Enterprise Avaya Aura Architecture
- System Manager
- Session Manager
- Communications Manger 5.X and 6.X
- Modular Messaging 5.2.1
- Mutare Message Mirroring
- Secure Access Link (SAL)
- Avaya S8810, S8800, S87xx and S8300 server platforms
- Avaya G350, G700, G430, G450 and G650 gateways
- TDM, SIP and H.323 endpoints
- Provide Design support for communications solutions involving the integration of the above mentioned technologies.
- Understanding of VoIP protocols
· Understanding of QoS standards and policies
· Understands complex interconnectivity, topology and relationships of client server, and physical environment
