Job Description: Senior Level Sun/Unix SA /Architectural Engineer Candidate must have extensive experience in the design, implementation and migration of Sun-Solaris/Oracle/Unix enterprise systems.

Required Skills: ·         Extensive experience working with Sun-Solaris, Sparc servers, T4 servers and M series servers ·         Experience in the design, implementation and re-platform/migration of Sun/Solaris systems ·         Ability to design and migrate Sun/Oracle applications from end of life platform to new platform ·         Experience in performing detailed assessments of Sun/Oracle systems to determine move and/or migration options. ·         History of working experience supporting applications and databases hosted on Solaris ·         Experience working with Sun clusters ·         Experience working with applications hosted on UNIX servers ·         Experience working with and understanding Oracle Databases

Additional Skills/ Requirements: ·         Sun certifications ·         Experience with re-platforming applications

 

About the project:

·         Client is moving datacenter from 57^th St to Hudson St in NYC

·         They have end of life Sun/Unix equipment that must be re-platformed and/or migrated to new datacenter equipment

·         Client prefers not to procure new Sun equipment and will consider other options.

Sun/Unix SA will be required to perform the following:

·         Review existing datacenter Sun/Solaris/Unix equipment

·         Examine/review applications installed on equipment

·         Draft post assessment recommendations as it relates to migrating those applications onto new platform

·         Timeframe: approx. 40-50 man days (due mid-May 2013)
