· Location: Dallas (travel in and around Dallas- client is in the Coppell/Irving area)
· Duration: Through the end of the year
· Interview Process: Screen with myself, Phone Screen with Sr. Solutions Architect, then F2F in Plano to meet several team members, then call with the client, if all goes well an offer
REQUIREMENTS
Strong Java based Lead Developer with in-depth knowledge and experience in developing scalable and performant enterprise applications using Java, J2EE, Spring framework and Messaging. Must have strong communication skills to interact closely with various internal and external stake holders in business and technical terms. Must be able to handle multiple tasks, coordinate with onshore and offshore team members – mentoring them and providing technical oversight.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Perform code reviews for technical consultants and developers.
- Coordinate and lead both onshore and offshore team members, including requirements definition and delivery/execution.
- Design coding strategy for development teams, including JUNITS.
- Provide hands on development, troubleshooting, etc. for team members, as needed or required.
- Work with architects and business analysts to perform business and technical requirements gathering and to create pseudocode.
- Lead technical design efforts and coding requirements.
- Responsible for developing and extending strong client relationships.
- Participate in business requirements sessions with client, internal business and technical resources.
- Work with team members to identify, mitigate and resolve project issues and risks.
- Apply appropriate methodologies and techniques to solve complex business problems and technical challenges.
- Recruiting and mentoring technical consultants.
- Lead the design of object models and business services and document them.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Strong Technical (Senior Level) knowledge on Caching, Spring and design principles of various components in Spring, Java, JMS, JDBC and Transaction Management
- Strong Knowledge of Oracle SQL – DDL and DML, Stored Procedures, and Functions.
- Mid to Senior level of WebSphere Application Server knowledge.
- Strong knowledge of performance tuning is desired.
- Very good hands-on capability to develop quality code as needed.
- Senior Level knowledge of Design patterns and OOPS.
- Mid to Senior level knowledge in Messaging specially IBM-MQ.
- Act as a Technical resource for less experienced developers and mentor them on periodic basis.
- Knowledge of GIT/Bit Bucket, Jira, Jenkins, and Maven (branching, merging and code reviews) is desired.
- Knowledge of web standards such as HTTP, HTML, JSON and REST
- 8+ years working developing Java applications.
- 3+ years leading development teams
- Experience with SCRUM and common agile practices such as pair programming, TDD, CD/CI is desirable.
- Extensive experience in code review and coaching junior developers is a great plus.
- Experience in the Financial service industry is desired.
