Job Description

Cloud Software Engineer Cloud & Data Software Engineer has first-hand experience in programming scalable platform services and applications for public clouds such as Google Cloud, Azure and AWS. They have implemented and deployed reliable distributed applications comprising autonomous services leveraging big data technologies. Reporting to the Project Manager, the successful Cloud Software Engineer is technical with excellent team skills. They work effectively with internal and external customers and have demonstrated leadership within professional associations. Responsibilities: · Builds prototypes, products and systems suitable for understanding, validating and satisfying customer needs. · Follows best practices associated with DevOps and value-driven development - ensuring quality from concept to production. · Works well in a small team and capable of collaborating with other teams to align objectives and share expertise throughout the broader organization. · Identifies and keeps abreast of novel technical concepts and markets. · May author technical reports, papers, articles, patents and presentations. Required skills: · DevOps experience with continuous delivery on public clouds such as Google Cloud, Azure and AWS. · Experience with agile product development practices required. · Experience with open source software platforms such as Apache Hadoop preferred. · Experience with micro services architecture, development, deployment and testing · Familiarity with container or virtualization technologies. · Competency with managed languages such as Java or C# required. · Experience with compiled languages such as C or C++ preferred. · Knowledge of interpreted or dynamic scripting languages preferred. · Experience in the energy and petroleum industry preferred.
