Responsibilities:
Position Summary:
§ The key responsibility of the SAP HANA Modeler is to architect and design Global Datawarehouse solution design in SAP Enterprise HANA environment. SAP HANA Modeler role will work with multiple teams in delivering solutions.
§ This role will be responsible for defining and establishing best practices in the SAP HANA environment. Example: Create templates for Functional Specifications, Technical Specifications, Test Plan templates, Metadata, Naming Standards, Coding Standards, Design Standards, and Information Audit.
§ Define and implement processes for Solution Design reviews, Release Management & Code Migration process
More specific responsibilities include:
Requirements Gathering & design documentation:
§ Understanding the Business requirements & convert them into Blueprint design
§ Understanding Security and Governance requirements
§ Create Design Documents for the HANA Models
§ Creation of Functional specifications
§ Translating Functional Specifications into Technical Specifications
§ Solution Validation specifications
§ Release Management, Hypercare and Support.
Solution Design:
§ Setting up essential configurations for SAP ECC accelerations using SAP HANA
§ Setting Up the Information Modeler
§ Design the Information Models for HANA
§ Design HANA Models to provide analytics solutions on Business KPIs
§ Design solution for Data Security & Access model.
§ Identify Attribute & measures , Hierarchies
§ Design HANA Attributes views, Analytic views, Calculation views
§ Managing Modeling Content
§ Configuring Data Services for Data & Metadata Import
§ Configuring the Information Modeler
§ Assist BI COE Team to define HANA Modeling standards and best practices, release management process, validation & testing process etc.
Develop Solution
§ Create and manage schemas
§ Develop HANA Attributes views, Analytic views, Calculation views
§ Manage Attribute Mapping
§ Develop Constant columns, Analytics Privileges
§ Function using SQL the Function Editor, Calculated Attributes
§ Activating Impacted Objects
§ Displaying Audit Trails of Information Models
§ Creation of Package
§ Implement Data Security & Access model.
§ Export/Import of Models
Review Solution:
§ Validating Information Models
§ Comparing Object Versions
§ Checking Model References
§ Adherence to client coding standards
Validation:
§ Unit Testing, Integration/System Testing, UAT
§ Validation of Data in the Reports
Production Cutover & Release
§ Perform manual tasks as required to implement solution in production
§ Validate all object successfully implemented
§ Knowledge transfer to RA BI COE team members
