Consultant Storage Infrastructure - L5.1 (CommVault), Westlake, TX
• Commvault Backup with 8 plus years of experience to provide L3/L4 support on Backup infrastructure, Scripting & Automation in Commvault.
• Systems Integration Data Backup positions assume leadership roles on projects, perform solution architecture and design, and are responsible for performing in-depth technical analysis of operational problems.
• Deep involvement in backup and recovery solution design, implementation, troubleshooting.
• Administering the commvault Management Console Server and command line exposure, Commvault Recovery Overview.
• Disaster Recovery of a commvault Server, HDS commvault Performance Tuning.
• Performing Cloning and Staging, Administering the commvault Server.
• Configuring and Managing Standalone Devices (SILO / JUKEBOX).Required knowledge on Oracle, SQL, VADP, and NDMP backups.
• Working closely with Storage/Server team for storage/server related issues, Technical Consultation.
• Create a repeatable backup assessment methodology
• Migration of all the database backups from different circles/location for the client & OS, Performance tuning and optimization for commvault
• Migration of commvault Master/Media Servers from one platform to another.
• Planning Backup Policies and Storage Units, Pools, Migration from one Backup tool to another tool.
• Optimizing Media Consumption, Patching on Backup/Restore Tool, Scripting / Automation of Major/ Complex Tasks
• Recovery of Backup/Restore Servers from failure, Integrating with other tools: Enterprise Management Systems.
• Planning and Implementing Security for Backup & Restore Tools, Design Reports on backup usage and performance.
• Should be able to mentor L1 and L2 Backup Admins
• Installation, configuration, administration and complete maintenance of commvault
• Responsible for reviewing the complete backup Infra. Plan & advise on new H/W Infra to higher management for New Backup Infra.
• Looking into capacity planning and management. Working on escalated issues by Backup Ops.
• Experience with data domain and tape library configuration.
• Hands on Experience on resolving Performance and Capacity issues.
• License Management
• Experience in implementing new Commcell.
• Experience in up gradation of CommVault v9 to CommVault v10.
• Knowledge on Commvault DB, Log file investigation.
• Generate monthly metrics
• Commvault version upgrades, patching & vendor support
• Respond to requests for Legal-Holds and Preservations
• Daily CommVault environment checks
• Knowledge of Change, Problem, Request and Incident Management processes.
• Should be good on Tape library and DataDomain & Iosafe
• Perform AD, Sharepoint, Filesystem, SQL, SAP restores on demand.
• Troubleshoot Level 2/3 backup failures
• Engage with other engineering teams to troubleshoot performance, and backup failures
• Tape drives status checks and troubleshooting.
• Bad media identification inside the tape library, Scratch Tape availability checks
• Free space availability check on the disk library. AUX copies status checks and troubleshooting.
• Update all the Media Agents with the latest base client, MA & Resource Service packs.
• Good Problem Determination & analysis skills.
