Position: Data Modeler
Location: New York, NY
Duration: 3 Months(Contract-hire)
Job Description:
Client is seeking a Database Engineer/Data Modeler to help develop and manage the Client Entity Hub application. The person filling this role will wear multiple hats including:
Design and Implement Application Database Optimizations with high quality, appropriate test coverage, and comprehensive rollback/recovery strategies.
Lead the change effort resulting in well structured, highly available, and easily maintained Application Database. Prepares and reviews documentation of Application Database Physical, Logical, and Concept.
Designs & Implementation.
Designing and modeling complex data structures inside Client Entity Hub database by adding new tables, relationships, etc as the product adds new functionality and capabilities
Ensure work is delivered on schedule and on budget.
Perform reviews to ensure all deliverables are of the highest quality
Prepare test scripts, and conduct all applicable tests for multiple projects, coordinating across multiple areas
Coordinate application outages in support of server patches, vulnerability management and other necessary sustainment activities
Perform and lead triage and analysis of application incidents / trouble tickets to provide possible short term and long-term resolutions as appropriate based on the business priority.
Creating database tables, views and indexes to support the Client Entity Hub application and reporting requirements
Supporting Development and Application support teams during the Agile development process by providing logical database support (i.e. query tuning, data mapping analysis, etc.)
Required Experience:
8+ years of experience modeling database tables, views, indexes and relationships
5+ years of experience writing PL/SQL
5+ years of experience performance tuning Oracle databases including reviewing explain plans and providing guidance to development teams on best practices
8+ years experience with Database / Data Warehouse analysis and design
Good knowledge of Database partitioning and creation of materialized views
Understanding of other Oracle products such as Goldengate replication
Understanding of how to manage databases and architect to support Active/Active data center sites (i.e. DB Sequences impact, etc.)
Experience with all phases of the Software/Database development life cycle ideally in an Agile environment
Demonstrated strong team orientation and ability to multi-task. - Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Experience developing logical and physical data models using Erwin and other similar tools
