Job Title	System Architect
Project Location	Malvern, PA
Duration	6+Months

 

The System Architect will be primarily focused on defining, maintaining, extending, and supporting a highly scalable NoSQL database engine and application development platform. Defines and maintains product architecture and software to deliver the robustness, security, throughput, and scalability required by the largest real-time core-banking systems in production anywhere in the world, as well as mission critical enterprise-scale applications in other industries and application domains.

The software is developed in C, using a POSIX API. The primary development platform is Linux, and the software is deployed on Linux and proprietary UNIX systems. The development work involves enhancing and maintaining, as well as supporting users (who are typically application software developers, system administrators, front line support technicians, etc. - not end users).

Responsibilities:

• Designs, documents, and publishes algorithms, data structures, heuristics, standards, patterns and frameworks.
• Develops, maintains, and supports software.
• Develops, maintains, and supports an automated regression test framework and automated regression tests.
• Supports internal and external customers.
• Reviews functional and technical designs to identify areas of risk and/or missing requirements.
• Communicates sofware architecture and functionality to technical and business audiences.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements:

• Demonstrable expertise in system software such as the internals of operating systems, compilers, databases, networking stacks, concurrency control techniques, etc.
• Deep knowledge of fundamental areas of computer science such as data structures, algorithms, recursive functions, memory management, parsers, code generators, garbage collectors (memory defragmenters), automata, etc.
• Fluency in C, POSIX APIs, and UNIX shells
• Development in C and C++
• Data Structures
• Algorithms

Linux and Unix experience
