Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with 5-7 years of working experience in Java, with specific focus on Java based middle-tier development
2. Demonstrate strong knowledge in design patterns, distributed computing concepts, formal functional specification and able to convey concepts into detailed system specifications defining software architectures
3. Working experience with application framework and component based development.
4. Hands-on experience in developing data access layer in java involving complex SQL and stored procedures is a plus and highly desired.
5. Working experience in advanced database design techniques, including query tuning and optimizations is a plus and highly desired.
6. Strong analytical skills in evaluating complex requirements, and in implementing a reusable "Database + Java" combined solution is a plus and highly desired.
7. Working experience in writing stored procedures and functions in Oracle 11g & SQL Server 2005 / 2008 is a plus and highly desired.
8. Working experience in Unit Testing using any testing framework. JUnit is preferable.
9. Experience in meta-data and rules driven database design is a plus.
10. Knowledge of PostgreSQL is a plus.
11. Knowledge of Lucene search engine is a plus.
12. Demonstrates an ability to learn new concepts and technologies.
13. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, ability to convey advanced technical and scientific concepts effectively.
14. Strong people skills, ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people and gain consensus.
15. Good organizational skills, ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
16. Strong understanding of software integration and interoperability technologies.
17. Strong interpersonal, analytical and logical skills.
18. Understanding of system integration and performance analysis.
19. Proven ability to communicate on a business and technical level.

Summary
Looking for a software engineer with a strong development experience in Java and in developing data access layer in Java involving complex SQL queries and stored procedures. The position requires someone with strong programming and analytical skills in evaluating complex requirements and implementing combined "Database and Java" reusable middle-tier solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Design and develop middle-tier components for high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems, delivering high-availability and performance.
Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle.
Write well designed, testable, efficient code.
Ensure designs are in compliance with specifications.
Prepare and produce releases of software components.
Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review.
