Position: Python Developer with Hadoop

Location: Denver, CO

Duration: 12+ months

Rate: $65/hr C2C

Pure Python role, working closely with the data scientist.

Experience with data cleaning, and working with Big Data sets.

Some experience with Java is good.

Experience with Hadoop (pig, hive)

Role Description:

The ideal candidate will have strong, industry based development background focused on building big data applications using Python. This role will require an individual with a technical degree; preferably a Masters degree but not required. Required skills include the detailed design, development and deployment of python applications with a focus on analytics and machine learning. The role will also require experience working with large data sets including: ETL, data prep for model development, parsing of data and data clean ups. This role will require interface heavily with the lead data scientist and the development manager to build Python solutions to gain insight into customer data.

Required Skills:

•             Strong background building complex analytics applications with Python

•             The ability to develop analytical solutions from use cases

•             Experience in a big data environment such as HortonWorks or Cloudera

•             Background in Java – building applications as a REST API and AWS

•             Skills developing Pig and Hive

Preferred Skills:

•             Experience in the python ecosystem such as anaconda, Wakari, Numpy, Scipy

•             Experience building machine learning applications with scikit-learn

•             Some exposure to data visualization tools - including Tableau or Bokeh Experience using packaged analytics tools such as Mahout or MLlib,

•             Exposure to real time analytics tools such as Spark or Storm

•             Experience using packaged search tools such as Solr and elasticsearch
