Position::Sr. Informatica Developer
Location:: St. Louis, MO
Duration::6+ months
Position Overview
The Sr. Informatica Developer will be part of the Global Enterprise Reporting and Data Integration team and report directly to the Sr. Manager - Business Intelligence & Data Integration. This individual will be a Subject Matter Expert on Informatica and will work with the various project teams, provide guidance and design the data integration/ETL solutions, set up and enforce ETL standards, develop, review and optimize ETL codes, and troubleshoot ETL related issues.
Detailed Objectives and Responsibilities:
- Develops and enforce Data Integration/ETL development standards and best practices.
- Works closely with IT Architects, Developers and Business Partners to define requirements, mappings, gap-analysis and business transformation rules.
- Provide technical guidance to other Data Integration developers in the team.
- Helps in defining appropriate processes for development, migrations and support.
- Conducts data mapping, designs, develops and implements extract/transform/load processes using Informatica.
- Participates in Data Modeling of the Dimensional artifacts in EDW.
- Assist in Resource planning, project/task estimations.
- Research new tools/technologies and implement them within Data Integration environment as and when necessary.
- Helps to define appropriate metrics/measures to proactively monitor systems for failures.
- Works with vendor (ex. Informatica) support services to resolve customer open issues.
- Defines and reviews procedures to perform ETL Repository administration including promotion of software packages to the proper environment, troubleshooting, and technical support.
- Performance tuning of ETL sessions.
- Forecasts and plans for supporting both applications functionality and capacity requirements in a rapidly growing, changing and complex environment.
- Perform on-call support to troubleshoot failed ETL jobs on a weekly rotating basis.
Critical Skill Requirements
· Experience with architecture, design, and development of ETL solutions using Informatica.
· Experience with using Informatica PowerCenter is needed. Experience with Informatica Power Exchange Connectors, Data Quality & Data Services would be a plus.
· Strong understanding of data models; operational and dimensional models.
· Experience with Performance tuning of ETL processes.
· Good understanding of Master Data Management, Operational Data Store, and DW/BI concepts.
· Experience with handling high-volume databases.
· Experience with WebServices, XML, JMS technologies.
· Knowledge of SQL Server, T-SQL and stored procedures.
· Shell/Perl Scripting Experience.
· Hands on experience in managing Informatica Platform upgrades.
· Strong communication & writing/documentation skills.
· Strong problem-solving, critical thinking and communication skills.
· Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties with respect to business needs.
· Previous experience in 24/7 system support capacity.
Education or Equivalent Experience:
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or a related field.
· Around 8 years of Informatica Technology development experience with at least 5 years in the field of ETL/Data Warehousing.
· Informatica Certification a strong plus
