Role: Senior Embedded Engineer

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Client: Wipro/Comcast

 

Job Description: We are looking for an experienced, talented, independent Senior Embedded Engineer to design, develop and support our Set top box and Interactive TV applications. The individual must have experience in software architecture, systems engineering and design/development of applications in embedded environments.

Minimum Qualifications:

7+ years of increasing responsibility in software engineering design and development of video technologies and embedded systems.

5 + years of Embedded C/C++ experience on Linux Platform

5+ years' experience in developing middleware/application for set top boxes and digital TVs.

Good knowledge of Linux/C development tools and environments: make, gcc, gdb, subversion, cygwin, vmware

Skilled with product development lifecycle processes, procedures and tools.

Ability to manage day to day tasks and thrive in a collaborative environment with minimal supervision.

Good troubleshooting and analytical skills is highly required.

Exceptional written and oral communications skills.

A BS or equivalent degree in Engineering or Computer Science.

Desirable Qualifications:

Experience in developing EPG/guide, DVR and VOD applications for STB is highly desirable.

Experience of OTT, IP, IPTV, DRM, CA, DOCSIS, mobile devices (iPad, Android etc), RTP technologies and MPEG standards will be a clear advantage.

Experience in cross platform technologies and "triple-play" (voice/video/data) environment is desirable.

Knowledge of cable standards and specifications including eTV/ EBIF, IAM, Advanced Advertising and Tru2way is highly desirable.
