Application Technical Support Analyst

Location: Bartlesville, OK

Duration: Long-term contract, 1 year +

Pay Rate: Max of $68/hr.

 

Job Details:

The Commercial RightAngle Application Technical Support Analyst position is part of the Commercial Applications RightAngle Support team in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. This position provides technical services for operations and projects in support of the RightAngle application used for the trading of Clean, Heavy, NGL, and Crude products. The primary responsibilities of this analyst position will be to provide business solutions/technical-based systems support to our Commercial Energy Trading and Risk Management (ERM) organization. In addition to front line application support, this position will network with Commercial, Accounting, Finance, Risk, other IT support groups and software vendors to investigate, analyze, troubleshoot and determine how to configure, and exploit new functionality for the benefit of the Commercial organization.

This position will be required to design, enhance, support and troubleshoot in-house developed system extensions to the RightAngle environment. The position will also be required to learn the RightAngle functionality, configuration, and architecture which includes vendor software as well as Phillips66-specific configuration, processes, interfaces, and add-on applications.

The analyst filling this position can be expected to gain both analytical and technical experience in IT application support, expertise using MS SQL Server database, PowerBuilder, and VB.Net, and Commercial business knowledge in one or more areas of the organization. The position will require technical development skills in supporting PowerBuilder code and/or .Net code, as well as SQL Server stored procedure code for our RightAngle application.

Responsibilities may include:

• Design, enhance, support and troubleshoot in-house developed system extensions to the corporation's core trade management application (RightAngle)
• Provide front line production application support to the Commercial organization
• Analyze data or system issues directly on SQL Server database
• Liaison between Commercial business, functional analysts and other IT leveraged services teams to provide technical support as appropriate
• Depending on the projects being executed in the Commercial Applications project portfolio, there may be opportunities for this role to be involved in larger capital projects involving the RightAngle application. The involvement would include delivery of technical designs and project deliverables for the project(s).
• Learning the systems, technologies, and business processes that are used to support Commercial's various business units
• Ensuring delivered technical components comply with defined strategies.
• Performing and/or directing quality assurance tasks such as technical design reviews, code reviews, unit testing, regression testing, etc…

Basic/Required:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong issue resolution skills
• Strong analytical and technical skills
• Discipline in following operational processes
• Proficient with Microsoft Visual Studio .NET, ASP.NET, C#
• Proficient with Microsoft Team Foundation Server
• Proficient in Object Oriented Programming techniques

Preferred Skills:
• Experience in Energy, Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) application support
• Experience with OpenLink's (SolArc) RightAngle energy trading and risk management software
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products including strong working knowledge of Excel
• Experience with PowerBuilder
• Managing Application Lifecycle using Microsoft Team Foundation Server, Microsoft Build and Microsoft Test Suite.
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Effective communication skills with the ability to relate to technical and business processes
• Ability to initiate tasks and demonstrate innovative behavior
• Proficient in UML Modeling
