Must Haves:
5+ years java experience
- Strong experience with Spring or other MVC framework
- Strong experience with Hibernate or other JPA framework
- Javascript (jquery, extjs, or similar framework)
- At least exposure to struts
Web service experience
- Specifically with REST or SOAP (also known as RESTFUL)
Enterprise Web Application experience
Strong Oracle or SQL/PLSQL experience
Agile methodology experience
Experience with Secure Coding techniques
Plusses:
Experience working for a Software as a Service (SaaS)
Lucene / SOLR
LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol)
Day to Day:
Our client is looking for a strong Senior Java Developer to join their development team working on Mergers and Acquisitions platform. You will be working on a 10 year old platform that was originally designed and developed in Java – Struts. A large majority of the work you will be doing will be to transfer and migrate the features of this platform from Struts to Spring. You will read a struts action and do the necessary development to migrate that to spring. You may also be asked to develop spring from scratch. You will be responsible for the majority of Java development as well as working with the business and technical teams to achieve project completion. The environment is 100% agile, so you will be actively involved in stand ups and sprints with the BA, PM, and QA teams. This will be a 6 month contract to start, but may end up going for 18+ months.
