Linux/Java System Programmer

7 MONTH-Contract
This position with the FUSE Support Team is responsible for the design, build, testing, support, and implementation of FUSE and application developed
packages. Tools developed by this team help improve our ability to manage these infrastructures through the creation of automation tools and
frameworks with the goal of reducing/eliminating the use of manual labor and/or improving the consistency, efficiency, and supportability of the Linux
and FUSE infrastructure.
The development and support of proprietary monitoring tools and creation of installation and deployment scripts is required to harden the production
environments.
5 + years hands-on or related experience with the install, configuration, deployment, and management of Linux OS, including scripting, unattended
installations, and application packaging.
****5+ years' experience with and advanced knowledge of Java Programming.
Details of Position:
· Knowledge of XML and the Open Source products ActiveMQ and Camel.
· Expertise in system admin and programming skills:
· performance tuning, dump analysis, server security.
· Demonstrated ability to apply problem analysis and resolution techniques to complex system problems.
· 7X24 on call support on a rotating basis.
· Occasional travel required.
· Assist with the creation of new automation solutions using SDM and tools that add value to the organization.
· Support automation solutions using SDM and tools to comply with new/updated infrastructure standards, support new OS, product support
lifecycles.
· Implement centralized infrastructure solutions or facilitate the implementation within the distributed environment through standard processes.
Management Skills:
· This is a technical position but the candidate must have a good understanding of the business implications and realities of their proposed
solutions. Candidates must have very good written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to successfully communicate and present
complex technical concepts to both fellow technical and non-technical audiences. Candidates must have excellent Microsoft
· Office suite abilities including Visio and Project.
· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree and/or equivalent work experience
