Job Title :  Desktop Engineer
Location :  Detroit, MI
Duration :  6+months Contract Position 

Experience & Required Skills:

• Demonstrated experience planning and executing client/server architectural implementations
• Experience providing client/server infrastructure guidance and thought leadership
• Experience with design/build/support of iOS, Android, Blackberry mobile devices
• Experience working with Mobile Device Management solutions such as Blackberry, Good, Citrix, or VMware
• Experience with design/build/support of thin client devices
• Experience working with virtual desktop virtualization technologies such as Citrix XenDesktop, VMWare View, or MS Virtual Server/Hyper-V
• Experience with cloud personal storage solutions
• Experience with disk encryption solutions such as Microsoft Bitlocker or Sophos for securing client PC and mobile devices
• 5+ years experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Microsoft Windows client Operating Systems and other technologies such as Internet
• Explorer, Office, KMS server, and OS migration tools (USMT for example)
• 5+ years experience working with and configuring Active Directory
• 5+ years experience with design/build/support of Intel based server and client PC hardware
• Experience with design/build/support of Mac based PCs
• Strong work ethic
• Ability to thrive in a constantly changing environment
• Demonstrated experience in the creation and management of technical documentation
• Collaborative in approach to working with a team
• Highly creative in approach to problem solving
• Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly

 
ADDITIONAL DEPARTMENT PREFERENCES:

• Industry certifications such as Microsoft or Citrix
• Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) experience
• Microsoft System Center suite experience
• Experience with design/build/support of Mac client Operating System
• Experience with design/build/support of Red Hat Enterprise Linux as a client Operating System
• Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Unified Communications and Collaboration solutions such as Microsoft Lync or Cisco Jabber
• Experience working with application virtualization technologies such as Citrix XenApp, VMWare ThinApp, or MS App-V
• Demonstrated Project Management experience
• Experience with design/build/support of MS Windows 2000/2003/2008 servers
