Job Description
The candidate must exhibit a thorough understanding of data structures, data manipulation, application development, and automation. The candidate must have a sound understanding of data processing techniques, as well as the tools used to access data and to produce reports. In addition, the candidate must have the ability to partner with customers inside and outside of the department to understand their needs and assist them in utilizing available tools and data. The ideal candidate will possess both strong technical skills and an understanding of real estate lending.
Key responsibilities will include the following:
Designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining analytic applications and data structures needed for modeling and forecasting
Process analysis and process improvement
Creating technical and user documentation
Training customers on how to install and/or use custom built applications and data repositories
Primary Skills Sets
Knowledge of the mortgage lending lifecycle, including origination, sale/servicing, default management/loss mitigation is a major plus
5+ years of solid application development experience
5+ years' experience designing and developing highly efficient SAS code for use in automated data processing systems on UNIX based platforms.
3+ years' experience with Unix shell scripting
5+ years' experience with SQL in a relational database environment
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Must have ability to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines and be comfortable manipulating and summarizing large quantities of data
Knowledge of version control tools and processes (Subversion, CVS, Clear Case etc.)
Must be able make contributions to the group's knowledge base by proposing new and valuable ways for approaching problems and projects
The Customer requires a senior Base SAS programmer.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following, withhands-on, proven experience with SAS programming to maintain and develop advanced SAS coding techniques to write maximum efficient and performance optimized code.
Services may include focus on and require the Consultant to:
1. Apply and demonstrate expertise with efficient DATA step, SQL programming, SAS Macro programming and SAS Array processing.
2. Must have project experience with implementing advanced SAS coding techniques to optimize performance and have developed best practices for efficient coding due to constraints of hardware storage and memory.
3. Must have project experience with sophisticated Base SAS development for performance enhancement and advanced SAS Dataset storage best practices.
4. Project experience with moving and maintaining data and code from different development environments (development to test to production).
5. Project experience with efficiently handling and managing massive volumes of data (large SAS Datasets withupwards of tens of millions of records and/or terabytes of data storage).
6. Must have proven data modeling and data architecting expertise.
7. Unixoperating system experience is requiredwith Korn shell scripting experience.
8. Have good oral and written communication skills.
9. Lead and/or actively participate in SAS knowledge-sharing activities.
11. Must be able to read, and understand existing coding and processing to troubleshoot and resolved issues as they arise.
