Job Title : ETL Software Engineer
Location : Sacramento CA
Duration : 9+ MONTHS
Required Skills and Qualifications:
· Experienced ETL Specialis with experience analyzing specifications, design, run and maintain jobs with IBM DataState.
· At least 2 years experience with IBM DataState or comparable ETL Tool
· At least 2 years with ERWIN or comparable data modeling tool
· Healthcare industry experience highly desired
· Will back fill for current Production ETL and data loading person.
Responsibilities will include:
1. Provide second level support to the help desk.
2. The ETL Software Engineer works with the other team members and the customers. Work includes explaining how the data relates to what question they are trying to answer. The ETL Software Engineer will work directly with the other ETL team members, DBAs, Program Specialists and Project Managers.
3. The ETL Software Engineer uses Erwin for data modeling and IBM's Websphere Datastage to design, run and maintain ETL jobs.
4. The ETL Software Engineer will create logical and physical data models and use Datastage to load data into relational database tables. We use Teradata as our DBMS.
5. The ETL Software Engineer may be asked to work directly with users. In these cases, we are required to do a Scope Statement, create the models, populate the tables, test them and QA them with other team members. ETL Software Engineer is required to have all work QA'd by either the QA specialist or another ETL staff member.
5. The ETL Software Engineer may be assigned to work with a high level management person of the customer. The ETL Software Engineer must be knowledgeable and be able to present herself/himself professionally.
6. The ETL Software Engineer works on internal and external, customer-facing projects.
