Job Description:
· Provides design recommendations based on only-term IT organizational strategy.
· Develops enterprise level application and custom integration solutions including major enhancements and interfaces, functions and features.
· Uses a variety of platforms to provide automated systems applications to customers. Provides expertise regarding the integration of applications across the business.
· Determines specifications, then plans, designs, and develops the most complex and business critical software solutions, utilizing appropriate software engineering processes, either individually or in concert with project team.
· Develops programming and development standards and procedures as well as programming architectures for code reuse.
· Has in-depth knowledge of state-of-the-art programming languages and object-oriented approaches in designing, coding, testing and debugging programs.
· Understands and consistently applies the attributes and processes of current application development methodologies.
· Researches and maintains knowledge in emerging technologies and possible application to the business. Viewed both internally and externally as a technical expert and critical technical resource across multiple disciplines.
· Acts as an internal consultant, advocate, mentor and change agent.
· Ten years of experience is desired.
Deliverable:
· Solution and integration architecture for multiple projects. Consulting and analysis as needed.
Skills:
· Candidate must have outstanding communication skills, verbal and written. Job requirements include communicating architectural patterns to development teams, as well as presenting architectural vision to senior executives. Job includes preparing presentations targeted at disparate audiences, and the ability to discern what key points are relevant to each, e.g., developer, business stakeholder or executive.
· Candidate must be hands-on, to plan and execute proofs-of-concept, and mentor junior staff, as well as possess a broad enough vision to provide integration solutions across a wide range of technologies. Job includes solution, integration and (as needed) application architecture, along with project estimation.
· Responsibilities include consultative IT, including creating end-to-end technology assessments with options analysis, total cost of ownership, and return on investment.
· Candidate must provide non-proprietary examples of past work as well as examples of architectural experience where the candidate had principal responsibility for the architectural decisions.
· Candidate will be expected to participate in interactive whiteboard discussions that demonstrate their ability to discuss the architecture technically at both high and low levels, as well as from a business perspective.
· Key factors include familiarity with "big data" concepts, with preference given to candidates who have implemented one or more data solutions into production with the Hadoop ecosystem.
· Candidate must also demonstrate a thorough, top-to-bottom understanding of system performance characteristics and other non-functional requirements, as well as provide examples of applying this knowledge in practice.
· Candidate should have delivered products with most of the following technologies:
· Service Oriented Architecture and integration platforms
· J2EE technologies and application containers
· UI frameworks and libraries, including AngularJS and React
· Multiple database platforms, including SQL Server, Oracle and DB2
· ETL technologies DataStage, Informatica and SSIS
· Hadoop (preferably HortonWorks) including HDFS, HBase, Sqoop, Hive, Pig, Kafka, Oozie, Falcon
· Reporting & visualization technologies including SSRS, Cognos, Tableau
· Single Sign on/federation technology standards like SAML 2, OpenID, OAuth 2.0.
· Experience with Identity and Access Management, i.e., Okta or PingFederate
