Job Title: Systems Engineer /Administrator
Location: Denver, CO
Duration: Long Term
Rate: $35/hr.
· Systems Engineer /Administrator to provide support of complex systems running Redhat Linux and Solaris.
· 5+ years progressive, technical, job-related experience.
· Expertise on RedHat Satellite 6 / Puppet, VERITAS Clustering on Solaris, RedHat Linux Clustering, Microsoft Windows, Tru64 or VMware would also increase value.
· Systems Engineer/Administrator must be able to function with limited direction and guidance and be able to diagnose a wide variety of problems.
· T&M must possess excellent customer relation and communication skills.
· Must be able to accurately assess problems and if necessary communicate the problem information to peers, support group and HW/OS vendors.
· T&M must be able to work in a team environment, demonstrate leadership skills, and follow established business processes and procedures.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Day to day system administration
2. Problem (break/fix) remediation
3. Security management
4. Change auditing, file cleanup, performance monitoring, patch installation and security related remediation's using Linux scripting.
Top 3 requirements:
1. In-depth operating system knowledge
2. Problem Remediation
3. Security Management (Research, analysis and planning from an OS perspective)
Required Skills:
1. Red Hat Linux and Solaris
2. Scripting
3. Security Management as it pertains to RedHat Linux and Solaris operating systems
Desired Skills:
1. Knowledge on an additional operating systems such as Tru64 Unix, MS Windows, VMware
2. RedHat Linux Clustering and/or Veritas Clustering for Solaris
3. Red Hat Linux Satellite 6 / Puppet
