#1 - Skill to analyze business needs and come up right way to present solution to user
- Know enough about type of visualizations possible to provide to users
- Understanding of dashboards
- Self service
- Makings of BI
#2 – sql – be able to analyze current reports
#3 Analyst reports in cognos (not required)
- 6 Analysts on the team now and a team lead – most are advanced
- All have their own responsibilities – diff areas of business that they focus on
- Interaction between analysts –
BI Analyst Level 2
Summary: Gathers specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs. Escalate report requests to BI Developers or Run ad hoc analysis and advanced querying
3+ years experience with BI reporting tool, Cognos Report Studio is preferred. Proficient with SQL coding language
Job Overview
The BI Analyst Level 2 consistently verifies data integrity and report performance, he/she ensures that the clients remain satisfied. Furthermore, a BI Level 2 Analyst assists lower level analysts with assignments or projects and assists BI Developers with report logic and requirements.
Preferred Education, Experience and Licenses:
- 3+ years experience with BI requirements gathering, analysis, documentation and popular commands
- 3+ years experience with BI reporting tool and OLAP cubes, Cognos Report Studio is preferred
- Proficient with SQL coding language
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Visio Excel, Access)
- Prior experience in client presentation is preferred
- Experience in a corporate retail environment a plus
Note: We are working with Tier-1 vendor requirement.
