The IT Market Risk Analyst will play a key role in control within Integrated Supply & Trading in the North American Gas and Power Trading business. This role is Data analyst for the US In-house Gas Market risk Physicals VAR solution using Endur ETRM as the source. This role holds the primary interface with the Endur team for the Market Risk team that, in-turn, interfaces with trading activities.
Key Accountabilities:
Work with Endur team to understand the Endur boundary table and extract Market Risk specific physicals data for VAR computation. Should be able to identify missing Market Risk components in Endur boundary tables and work with Endur team to get it added.
Partner with key users, business leads and project sponsors to understand the needs of the business, document them (Agile - via requirements documents, use cases and process diagrams) and determine the appropriate short and long term solutions to meet them
• Create Logical Design Mappings between Endur and Market Risk solution
• Liaise effectively with business users and development to communicate business requirements
• Preempt, mitigate and resolve issues that arise during development
• Deliver documented business requirements in enough detail for other development teams to be able to construct solution
• Prepare, recommend and propose IT solutions
Interface with IT during development to validate the solution against the requirements and serve as an internal point of contact for the IT team whenever requirements need to be clarified
• 5+ years of experience in a physical and financial energy trading environment
• Strong analytic and quantitative skills.
• Strong Oracle SQL/PL SQL skills. 7+ years of experience in Oracle SQL.
• Good knowledge on Endur.
• Team player and eager to learn and teach in partnership with other team members
• Able to grasp and communicate complex models and trading transactions in layman terms for technical and non-technical audience
• Ability to work with business users, determine overall future state business processes and translate into achievable delivery approach
• Ability to work on complex, high profile projects to ensure all streams of work, their interdependencies and requirements are understood by all
• Follow defined SDLC and adhere to required agile methodology
• Proactively communicate, collaborate and build relationships between business users and IT
• Problem Solver
• Develop and implement test plans based on business requirements
• Acquire and/or create test data and business process scenarios
Review/QA applications prior to submission for acceptance
