The Enterprise Data Architect is responsible for the development of the enterprise data architecture, information governance and associated policies, standards and procedures across the company. The Architect collaborates with all business functions in developing and maintaining data design and modeling to optimize enterprise data architecture processes and drive innovation in support of business objectives. The Architect is expected to demonstrate leadership expertise to execute strategic direction as well as significant depth of technical expertise in enterprise data architecture.
The enterprise data architecture role has a high degree of complexity and is a thought leadership position that requires a combination of requisite technical skills and subject matter expertise. The role requires execution of tactical day-to-day initiatives as well as development of long-term strategy.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop, implement, and maintain enterprise data architecture to enable knowledge workforce productivity, improve customer experience and business decision making.
• Create and maintain blueprints that maintain a holistic view of information assets and effectively illustrate how information is stored, processed and accessed.
• Establish a Master Data Management program that will help create a common view of master data and provide a centralized mechanism for its aggregation, cleansing, transformation, augmentation, validation, and syndication.
• Lead and manage activities to map data and information inputs and outputs for business functions and processes.
• Design and develop specifications to improve the performance, usability and effectiveness of system interfaces.
• Develop, communicate and drive implementation of enterprise data architecture and data integration standards.
• Lead and manage the development of data modeling policies and standards, as well as Meta-data standards and nomenclature, to guide information decision making for the enterprise.
• Partner with business and technology teams to understand the implications of respective architectures on data architecture and maximize the value of information across the organization.
• Collaborate with Database management team to develop and maintain project level data and database design, as well as ensure new capabilities comply with the enterprise data architecture standards.
• Provide insight and support to developing and implementing enterprise data architecture standards, artifacts and modeling tools.
 
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• 7 – 10 years related experience.
• Knowledge and application of principles of enterprise architecture and enterprise data architecture.
• Knowledge of various programming languages and development tools, including (but not limited to) Oracle/Microsoft development tools, Java, VB, C++, and XML.
• Experience in designing and implementing Enterprise Master Data Management (MDM) systems, policies and standards.
• Experience in developing and implementing enterprise class data models and associated enterprise data architecture artifacts.
• Experience in application design, data modeling and executing against overall enterprise architecture strategy.
• Experience with employee and consumer assessment tools, data models and alignment with product related data is preferred.
