Position: Greenplum Admin

Location: NYC, NY

Duration: 12 Months - Contract

Description:

Day to day administration of Greenplum and Postgres databases

Implement automated methods and industry best practices for consistent installation and configuration of GreenPlum for production and non-production environments

Manage backup and recovery functions for a Greenplum data warehouse environment

Proactively monitor and setup Alerting mechanism for both database and supporting hardware to ensure system health and maximum availability

Create users, establish database security, create resource queue, Performance tuning in terms of query execution etc.

Plan and coordinate system upgrades.

Manage DR environment and perform fail over testing

Identifying and resolving incidents and address to user problems/concerns

Install and configure multimode Greenplum cluster.

Upgrade /Add nodes to exisiting Greenplum cluster.

Install and configure Greenplum extension packages like Madlib and R.

Install/configure Hadoop client on Greenplum nodes to connect to Hadoop Cluster

Configure gpfdist on Utility/data landing pad hosts.

Generating reports of all processes and jobs currently running on GP with details like users, start and end time, CPU Usage and time, Memory usage, IO Time, locking etc
