Job Description:
Required:
· One (1) to three (3) years with BA/BS OR one (1) year with MA/MS or an equivalent combination
· of education and/or experience.
· Experience with Object Oriented Programming design and implementation.
· Experience with database programming and desktop application development.
· Experience with web application development and web page creation.
· Experience in the following development technologies:
· C#
· ASP.NET MVC
· SQL Server
· HTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript
· Classic ASP
· Experience working with version control for software development.
· Ability to update and administer web content management systems such as WordPress, Dreamweaver, Adobe Contribute, and Hannon Hill Cascade.
· Advanced skills in Mac and Windows applications and the ability to master new software quickly.
· Experience with business analysis and requirement gathering to enable programs developed inhouse or purchased to meet the needs of clients.
· Ability to conduct research projects including developing plans, testing claims, documenting results, and presenting to others.
· Proficient organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple, overlapping, and potentially conflicting priorities.
· Ability to develop and train others on new applications or enhancements.
· Knowledge and understanding of methods and best practices to protect data and access.
· Proficient analytical skills to evaluate existing or proposed new solutions for potential flaws or improvement opportunities including alignment to departmental goals and standards.
· Ability to work independently and successfully track a number of projects, tasks, and requests with varying priority levels.
· Ability to explain difficult technical concepts clearly and simply to non-technical staff.
· Ability to write well and produce clear, concise, and accurate technical and non-technical documentation.
· Ability to conduct training sessions to orient users on enhancements or software changes.
· Strong ability to work collaboratively with clients, other developers, and technical staff across multiple functional groups and on multiple projects simultaneously.
· Ability to maintain a positive attitude and contribute both as an individual and member of a team to achieve the goals of the group, department, and the University.
Desired:
· Experience working with web APIs such as REST and SOAP.
· Demonstrated skills to maintain effective, well-coordinated web sites, including knowledge of user interface issues, information design, and visual design.
· Experience working with distributed version control and continuous integration.
· Experience working with Microsoft Access.
· Experience providing technical support to end-users.
· Prior experience working with management-level clients.
· Familiarity with the academic process and the roles and processes involved in University
